The psychology of social media

When we set out to collect further validation evidence for the 16PF® psychometric tool, we made some very interesting discoveries about how we live our lives today - and why.

We're going to present those findings in the form of a webinar on July 20 and we'd love you to join us to find out more. We'll reveal stuff like:

  • Who's sociable: women are more likely than men to spend time on Facebook
Women typically score higher on the 16PF's "Warmth" and "Sensitivity" traits than their male counterparts
  • Who's inconsistent: 37% of people said they change their personality online
And the more someone changes when they're online, the lower they'll tend to score on the 16PF's "Emotional Stability" trait
  • Who's naughty: men are more likely than women to download unauthorised music and videos
Those who download dubious material score lower on the 16PF's "Rule-Consciousness" trait

And much more: the kind of people who prefer cats over dogs, who gets the most stressed out by public speaking, and the favourite hobbies of French people!

These, and many other findings were revealed during extensive research completed in four European countries*. To learn more about what it revealed, and to find out about the 16PF tool and how it has been validated:

  1. While the web provides a venue for socially-shy individuals, there's still a lot of room that needs to be devoted into developing skills in social interactions with both small and huge crowds.
